Fia’s Literacy Pack for Young Scholars is a two-book set that helps to promote student achievement. Fia’s Literacy Pack contains the following:

    1.  Teaching Notes for Fia’s Notebook contains twenty-five lesson plans for teachers, tutors, and parents for use with students to help them to improve their reading, writing, and test-taking skills. The twenty-five lesson plans are excellent examples of the BBC (Blackboard Configuration), a structure for planning and delivering quality lessons developed by Dr. Lorraine Monroe, President of the Lorraine Monroe Leadership Institute.

2.  Fia’s Notebook: An Assignment Book for Young Scholars is a workbook for students that includes a read-aloud story, reading comprehension and writing exercises, and 8 test-prep quizzes. Fia’s Notebook also contains a 59-word glossary, a time-line activity, an essay about the Civil Rights Movement, and a study sheet for learning the eight parts of speech.

Fia’s Literacy Pack is appropriate for students in grades 4 through 8.

The read-aloud story in Fia’s Literacy Pack is excerpted from Fia and the Butterfly: 7 Stories for Character Education by Lonnetta M. Taylor-Gaines.
